As we are the first real beach resort in Surigao, you might ask, why Surigao?
Well, it’s good to be first, right. And who wouldn’t like to swim with dolphins?
Swimming with dolphins is our main attraction here, and that’s how the whole idea of the guesthouse originally started. We even planned to name the resort Home of the Dolphins.
But pretty soon we realized that, there are so many more awesome things to do and experience here, that it is not only about dolphins. Far from it.
We also do snorkeling trips with whale sharks in a genuinely pristine environment, and organize island hopping in insanely beautiful deserted islands. You could call the mini El Nido–without the crowds!
And we have our own little palm fringed pebble beach with wonderful coral reef just next to it. There are waterfalls, village life, cockfights, and great fishing opportunities.
So how come we have all these wonderful things around, and you had never heard of Surigao before?
That’s because tourism has truly just started to really catch on in the Philippines, and the country is still full of these kinds of hidden and undiscovered gems.
Sure there are already some very popular tourism hot spots in the country: El Nido, Boracay, Bohol and our next door neighbor Siargao. But why just spend your whole holiday in crowded places when you can also experience something genuine? Something local and real?
